Do Good Labs, a family-owned Aussie snack business is giving back in a big way, signing a deal to supply its much-loved premium mixes to Woolworths nationally. Every snack sale will help OzHarvest deliver a meal to Aussies in need. During Covid Do Good Labs have donated 100,000 meals with a goal of reaching 500,000 meals over the summer.
Founded by brothers David and Daniel Rifkin, Do Good Labs was the major supplier of snacks for Virgin Australia, allowing them to raise awareness and funds for mental health charities supporting the local community. But with most flights now grounded, after suffering a major halt in operations as COVID-19 shut down much of the travel industry, Woolies have come on board to help the brothers with their mission to support people in need through COVID-19.
OzHarvest Founder Ronni Kahn AO said that projects like this help keep the wheels of OzHarvest turning. “The impact of COVID-19 has seen food relief hit an all-time high, with so many people experiencing food insecurity for the first time ever in their lives. We know the importance of providing a nourishing meal – it’s more than just food,it means that families who are struggling will be able to take stronger steps to rebuild their lives during this pandemic”.
Do Good Labs co-founder David Rifkin said this provides a vehicle for the country to enjoy a gourmet mix with their loved ones and know that they are directly helping someone in need. “We set this project up so that the everyday Aussie can directly help the less fortunate in our communities.”
The three Do Good Labs mixes are ranged nationally in premium black and gold packaging within “nut mix” section in Woolworths. El Mexicana Mix is a savoury delight served best with a beverage, Sunshine Mix filled with glazed premium nuts and fruit that goes great with a salad or ice cream, and the Hooray Mix that has a bit of choc raisins and almonds for a late night nibble to share with your loved one to reflect on the wins of the day.
